Open 3D Engine (O3DE) is powered by its community. Every feature, tutorial, demo, and improvement exists because developers and creators worldwide choose to share their knowledge.
Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been working with O3DE for awhile, every contribution matters.
How to Contribute
- Fill out a O3DE Contributor Spotlight form
- Answer as many questions as you feel comfortable with
- Optional (strongly encouraged): Share your content as a file upload in the second-to-last question at the bottom of the form.— tutorials, demos, or snippets are welcome. Please keep submissions clear and aligned with O3DE brand guidelines.
- Submit your entry and we’ll do the rest!
- We’ll format the blog and will help update as needed. You’ll then review and approve the final draft before we publish it.
- Once published on the O3DE site, you will be tagged in the social media posts (LinkedIn and X). We’ll also share the links with you in email or via Discord to ensure you have them and can amplify.

From a quick blog post to a full tutorial or demo, your experience can help someone else learn faster, solve a problem, or try something new.
Starter Ideas
There’s no single “right” way to contribute. Pick what fits your skills, interests, and time. Some ideas include, but aren’t limited to:
Blog Posts & Articles
Share what you’ve learned: getting started guides, lessons from a project, deep dives into features, or performance tips. These posts help O3DE community members on how to get started and inspire others. Example here >>
Tutorials & How-To Guides
Step-by-step tutorials are a huge resource for the community: setting up O3DE, building gameplay systems, integrating physics or rendering, and more. Clear guides help others build confidently. Example here >>
Videos & Livestreams
Prefer showing rather than writing? Share short tips, demos, feature overviews, or livestreams of your workflow. Videos make learning accessible to everyone. Example here >>
Code, Samples & Extensions
Share code snippets, Gems, tools, or fixes. Even small contributions can have a big impact when shared openly. Example here >>
You Don’t Need to Be an Expert
You don’t need to be a veteran to contribute. If you’ve recently learned something, others are likely learning it too. Fresh perspectives are often the most valuable because they reflect real experiences.
O3DE grows because of people like you. By sharing your knowledge, you’re helping shape the future of open 3D development. We can’t wait to see what you create.
