O3DE is a very successful project and the project remains active. The codebase continues to be maintained, releases are still important to downstream users, and the community remains very engaged. But, O3DF has limited funds as membership has declined. Not to worry, with the help of community members, we can scale back on procured services, and use funds to ensure critical needs are met, like CI/CD.
FAQ

- Website hosting
- Code repositories
- Technical governance
Yes. The community remains active, and releases remain important to users and contributors.
A help desk support model will be used for operational questions. Email projectsupport@linuxfoundation.org.
Marketing and outreach activities will shift to a community-led model. We’re currently looking for a volunteer to help manage the O3DE LinkedIn profile. Other community contributors are encouraged to help promote releases, events, and milestones via their LinkedIn profiles or on Discord.
As with many open source projects, continued community engagement, code contributions, and relevance of the software determine the long-term sustainability of the project.
As O3DE moves to the community-led model, the contributors and users will help drive the narrative, while the Foundation will continue to provide the underlying legal and technical infrastructure.
